The deputy of the Democratic Party, Dashnor Sula, reacted to the construction of the tower behind the Opera and Ballet Theater, saying that he raised concerns about such constructions in April of this year.
Sula said that he has shown in the parliament that most of the companies that receive construction permits do not have financial resources to carry out these constructions, while most of them have not even received loans from second-tier banks.
He added that SPAK should be encouraged based on these facts to follow the money to get to the root of the problem and save public spaces from concrete.
"Two of the dangers that threaten Albania are concrete and steel towers.
On April 13 of this year, when the giant tower that will be built behind the Opera and Ballet Theater was in the project phase, I raised concerns about the risk in Parliament; million square meters of building permits for 10 companies. Most of them do not have financial resources to realize these constructions. Even worse, most of them have not even received loans from second-tier banks.
"Follow the Money", this is what is advised to end illegality.
The noise of the moment now when everything has become a fact and the flower garden where the tower will be built is surrounded may be a little populist, but it did not solve the problems.
Therefore, in order to save the green spaces of the parks and flower gardens of Tirana and Albania, we must go a little deeper into the problem.
Do the big companies in Albania have the financial capacity to build towers worth up to 200 million euros?! If not, have they received loans to finance the project? If they haven't exhausted this element as well (which according to information, they haven't exhausted it), then where do they find the money?
Here we should encourage SPAK and support it to follow the money. This is the only way to get to the root of the problem and save public spaces from concrete, but also get out of the gray list of moneyval, which considers us a "paradise of money laundering", writes Sula on Facebook.
