Albania-Poland match/ Balla warns: Hooligans should be banned from the stadium,
The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla and the director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku

The Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla today called on the Police structures to prevent any violence during the match that will take place tomorrow at the "Air Albania" stadium between Albania and Poland.

In a meeting with police structures, Balla said that another level of security is needed in stadiums not only in international but also national matches.

"A coordination of the structures of the State Police will prevent any violent event in the capital. Everything is related to the image of Albania. We need another level of security in stadiums, not only in international sporting events, but also in national competitions. The State Police should not allow any display of hooliganism during the Albania-Poland match. Everyone who comes to the stadium, with the intention of uprooting the stadium benches and throwing them on the field, or to cause other acts of hooliganism, and here with the Albanian Football Federation we must be very clear, to take measures drastic, naturally the criminal part, but also to not allow certain persons to enter the stadiums forever. We have the right time available to identify people with a history of hooliganism, in both Albanian and Polish fans. Even with the Polish side, we must be very clear, and the persons who, from the communication with the Polish State Police, prove to us that they have a precedent in hooliganism events, should not be allowed to enter the stadium at all, even if they have a valid ticket, because the final decision for whether or not to enter the stadium is taken by the State Police," he said.

For those who do not follow the rules set by UEFA, the interior minister said that severe punishments are required.

"For anyone who violates the rules established by UEFA, the violations will be documented and severe punishments will be required. Strict controls for the possession of pyrotechnic devices/incendiaries and immediate arrest of these persons", the minister added.
