Changing the price of medicines, Braçe: Do not deny access to doctors to
Erion Brace

During the parliamentary session, the socialist MP, Erion Braçe, raised concerns about the price change for reimbursable drugs, a denunciation also made by the Order of Pharmacists. Braçe, who appeared critical during the session, especially in the field of health, said that the list of reimbursable drugs was created for the needy and for this reason he emphasizes that the construction of this list is fundamental.

He stressed that the price change without notice has created direct concern among citizens, citing as an example the concern from the Diabetes Association about insulin. The socialist MP made the reaction during the discussion on the draft law on psychotropic substances.

"Price is an element that guarantees or denies access to medication, especially in needy groups. The list of reimbursable drugs is created for these groups. For this reason, the way the list is built, how alternatives are located, are fundamental.

The concern is twofold, the subversion of alternatives and prices, unnegotiated and unannounced, creating concern among citizens who should benefit from the reimbursable drugs that you have in mind are reasonable. The first case of concern from the diabetes association, specifically insulin. Their concern is precisely about this, the subversion of the product. Alternatives should not be attacked.

The second, oncology drugs, from priority drugs to alternatives. It should not be done for clientelism, to remove one from the market and introduce another. The second has to do with oncology drugs. The list has gone up to 140 million euros. That is the budget for the list today. When we do this, of course the beneficiary should be the patient and not the companies", said Braçe.
