The Assembly has been engulfed in debates and retorts, as the Democratic Party leader, Sali Berisha, accused the Socialist majority of blocking justice and that judges and prosecutors are being threatened with messages from Edi Rama.
Berisha focused on the issue of the immunity of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, but also on the arrest warrant for Ergys Agas.
The Democratic leader said that while in the case of Balluk, the Socialists are defending corruption, by not accepting SPAK's request to lift immunity, in the case of Agas, prosecutors and judges are being threatened with messages and phone calls.
" This Parliament every second, every minute, pushes for the unconstitutional act, for the transformation of criminal mandates into a shield for Balluk, into a shield for Ramaduro's theft of billions of euros of your taxes. This Parliament committed a coup by rejecting the prosecution's request for the arrest of Balluk ," said Berisha.
To illustrate, according to him, the way in which the majority is defending corruption and acting only as an enforcer of orders, Berisha brought an example from philosophy, citing the opinion of the German philosopher Hannah Arendt.
" Today I want to bring you the observation of the German philosopher Hannah Arendt. In the 1960s, she followed the trial of Eichmann, a Nazi who had sent millions of Jews to the crematoriums. After following the court hearings, she concluded that it was about 'banal evil.'
"According to her, he was not a monster, but an automaton who carried out orders. Thus was born the doctrine of banal evil, which today is embodied in you, who blindly support corruption and become pillars of a system that sucks the blood of citizens ," Berisha declared.
Meanwhile, at one point there was tension in the Assembly hall, as the DP deputies rose to the podium, while the Guard was placed in a row as a "wall" between the lawmakers and the row where the members of the Government should stand.
Everything happened as Berisha asked for the floor for a point of procedure, following the speech given in the Assembly by Minister of State, Toni Gogu.
