A group of opposition MPs held a meeting with the Director of the American Republican Institute (IRI) Daniel Twining and the President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Tamara Cofman Wittes.
The fight against corruption and organized crime, free elections and the democratic functioning of institutions are issues of common interest, writes Gazment Bardhi in a post on social networks, regarding the meeting.
He states that Albania values the partnership with the US and its support to bring European standards to governance.
"IRI and NDI have helped Albania make progress in international standards of good governance over the years, and I am happy to hear that they will continue to contribute in this direction. On behalf of the opposition, we thank them for their cooperation so far and for all the support they have provided over the years," said Bardhi.
