Political tensions between the majority and the opposition have taken another sharp turn, following an exchange of words between Prime Minister Edi Rama and Democratic Party MP Tomor Alizoti. During a public statement, Rama mocked Alizoti by calling him "Ludovik", a film reference, while accusing him of instability and incompetence.
" Ludovic said 'we will eat them alive'. That's what Ludovic said to Tomor Alizot, because of a character in a movie. This is nonsense, it's not normal ," Rama said, continuing with another jab: "There was another one who said that under this vile government 1 million lek has disappeared, but he was wrong, because he meant 1 million people."
In immediate reaction, Democratic MP Tomor Alizoti has exploded with harsh and personally offensive language towards the prime minister, accusing him of vulgarity, corruption and contempt for Albanian citizens.

When I heard your reaction, I remembered what Nietzsche says about people like you. He has a wonderful comparison when he shows the difference between animals and humans. When you read it in German it sounds very beautiful.
But then I thought, it's a huge waste of time to explain to someone, whose imagination is at its peak connected to talking figures on screens, what the separation of man from the beast is. Therefore, I'm answering you with what you understand best, vulgarity.
You, Edvin Kristaq Rama, will remain a scoundrel, because you were born that way. You are a descendant of the half-oping, and you will remain that way forever. This is your stone, which you cannot buy with the millions you steal from the poorest people in Europe, nor with the 35 thousand euro bottles of wine with which your ordinary friends rent you the nights when you sign the thefts. Nor with the boasting among your useful idiots.
You have been, are, and will remain a half-oping. Before me, you are like a delenxhiu, as yesterday, as today, as forever.
