From the "Kuçi Memorandum" to the polls: Who will triumph

Rama's prediction, poll predictions and what to expect tomorrow...

Albania enters its decisive day tomorrow. Citizens will vote for a new Parliament, in a polarized political climate and with a campaign dominated by accusations, insults and a fierce competition for power.

There are 11 political entities on the list, with the eyes clearly on the new parties. The Socialist Party seems determined to have victory in its pocket. Rama claims to secure over 78 mandates, while the DP says that the polls are paid for. So what should we expect tomorrow: A result like the one predicted by the polls, or will there be surprises?

If we summarize the 4 main polls, the one published by Barometri and Euronews, the one by Top Channel with McLaughlin, the one by Report TV with Piepoli, and the News 24 poll with Antoni Noto, we have the following data:

Socialist Party (SP) : Average percentage ~47.3%; Expected mandates: 72–76 mandates.

Democratic Party (DP):  Average percentage ~34.5%; Expected mandates: 48–52 mandates.

Party Chance: Average percentage ~5.3%; Expected mandates: 7–9 mandates.

Albania Becomes: Average percentage ~5.8% Expected terms: 6–8 terms.

Joint Movement: Average percentage ~1.7%. Expected mandates: 0–1 term

But are the figures accurate?

In a country where the media is politicized and polls are often used as propaganda weapons, the average citizen has little guarantee that he is getting a fair picture of the situation. Meanwhile, Rama himself has used the figures of the “victory memorandum” to boost electoral morale and increase the sense of superiority among his electorate.

Of course, Rama is not talking in the air. Rama has conducted the latest internal survey by the Israeli company that advises him and came up with these figures. Since the figures came out in the 2021 elections, Rama claims that he will strike again.

Meanwhile, young people are expected with great interest. Albania Becomes, Opportunity and Together Movement expect to have deputies in Parliament. The first two are doing well in the polls and according to them they will have several mandates. But Together Movement surprised in the local elections even though it did not appear in the polls and it is not surprising that it will do so again.

So we have to see, will we have a result according to the polls, a result as Rama claims, or neither and the new forces will make the difference. /Pamphlet
