The National Council of the Democratic Party is expected to elect the party's new leaders today, in a process that will determine the composition of the blue headquarters' leadership.
The most important race is for the position of Secretary General, where the incumbent Secretary, Flamur Noka, will face Fier MP, Saimir Korreshi. The latter previously stated that it was a last-minute decision.
During the opening speech of the meeting, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, also presented the list of candidates for other leadership positions.
Belind Këlliçi, Luciano Boçi, Xhonatan Pano, Nikola Kedhi, Besa Manaj and Erisa Bajaziti are running for the three positions of vice-presidents of the Democratic Party.
Agron Loka and Klevis Balliu are competing for the position of Organizational Secretary , while Etion Kapedani and Renald Rista are competing for the position of Secretary for Digitalization .
Andi Mustafa and Mario Runa are running for Secretary of Human Resources , while Gentian Kaprata and Maksim Kola are running for Secretary of Urban Planning and Territory .
In the race for Secretary for Legal and Electoral Affairs are Arlinda Ahmetaj and Marash Logu, while Endira Bushati and Ledina Mandia are running for Secretary for Property Affairs .
Denisa Kele and Viola Kapedani are running for Secretary for Public Relations , while Franc Nuri and Ledio Nuraj are running for Secretary for Human Rights .
Eva Metaj and Malvina Lika are running for Secretary for Partner Organizations , while Lorenc Luka and Shkëlqim Lepenica are running for Secretary for the Politically Persecuted .
In the race for Secretary for European Integration are Fjoralba Dizdari and Silvia Hasaj, while Agron Haxhimali and Ylli Asllani are running for Secretary for Local Government .
Et'hem Aga and Petrit Tafaj will compete for the position of Secretary for Diaspora , while Erges Eskiu and Jurgen Spaho are running for the position of Secretary for Civic Action .
The National Council vote is expected to determine the new leadership team that will accompany the Democratic Party in the next phase of political organization.
