New York Mayor Eric Adams has described Albania as a wonderful country with friendly people.
Adams made these statements from Vlora, while he was visiting Albania.
“ A few years ago, my son came to perform here and told me that it was a very beautiful place. During the time I was in office, I was also in contact with the Prime Minister and I had promised him that I would come to see the development of tourism and to discuss issues related to public safety and other similar topics. This happened about a year ago, but then it was not the right time.
Today I see that tourism has moved forward, but we want to improve it even further and bring innovation through our cooperation. New York is like the 'Albania of America'. Your country is wonderful and your people are very friendly, you have an extraordinary sense of security. You can walk the streets at night without any problems.
We are currently considering several countries with which we can expand our cooperation, and we would very much like to create a direct air line between New York and Albania, just as we have done with Azerbaijan. Vlora is a beautiful city and an ideal place for exchanging experiences. I invite you to come to New York, just as we will gladly come to your country, "said the mayor.
Eric Adams added that cooperation in the field of tourism and innovation is a new opportunity to strengthen relations between Albania and the United States of America.
" New York is like the Albania of Americans because in New York we have a large population of Albanians ," he concluded.
