Prime Minister Rama's meeting with Albanian immigrants in New York begins. Accompanied by his wife, Linda Rama, the prime minister was welcomed with drums and folk songs.
Dressed in folk costumes and cellos, the sympathizers enthusiastically met Prime Minister Rama, at the same time the head of the Socialist Party, at Gotham Hall in New York.
After Athens and Milan, Prime Minister Edi Rama continues his tour with the diaspora in New York. This meeting comes at a time when, with changes to the electoral code, Albanians in emigration will be able to vote in the 2025 elections.
During his speech, Prime Minister Rama asked for the vote of the Albanians of America. He says that in the 2025 elections he wants the vote of immigrants, to make Albania a member of the EU in 2030.
"I am here today to tell you that next spring I want your vote from America to make Albania a member of the EU in 2030 and to raise together with you the flag of Skanderbeg and Ismail Qemal in the courtyard of the EU in Brussels. Today is the day to make history together. This is the promise of promises. The essence of my mission in the Albanian government and this is our unchanging commitment of the three mandates and the meaning of our fourth mandate for Albania", said Rama.
