One day after the visit to Tirana of American Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the American Embassy has made a summary of the meetings held.
Also, once again emphasis was placed on the main messages that Blinken conveyed in Tirana.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Albanian President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama and members of the government during his historic visit to Albania yesterday.
Secretary Blinken asserted that Albania is at the forefront of meeting so many of the challenges we face and that we can face them more effectively together.
The Secretary thanked Albania for its hospitality to the Afghans, its support for Ukraine in the United Nations Security Council and for its support for Ukraine against the terrible and unprovoked invasion of Russia.
He noted that business ties continue to grow and discussed the need to continue strengthening independent judicial reform as an essential part of boosting economic growth and EU accession efforts.
At the end of the trip, the Secretary and Foreign Minister Igli Hasani signed two cooperation agreements, for the framework against the manipulation of foreign state information and for the Fulbright academic exchange program.
