The new American proposal that puts Edi Rama in a very difficult position...
It is very naïve to think that the arrival of the American Secretary of State in Tirana was a message for Sali Berisha, or even for Kosovo and the Balkans, which have been talked about a lot these days.
These messages can easily be given to Washington's diplomatic representatives in Tirana and Pristina, or even a senior DASH official, who almost every day have interviews in American state media such as Voice of America or Radio Free Europe, which then multiplied in the local media.
The symbolism or signal that brings Blinken to Tirana is beyond. And this was made known by the Spokesman of the Department of State, Matthew Miller, who stated at a media conference in Washington: "Albania is a vital partner for the stability of the Western Balkans, which also supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine."
So, this visit, right after the security conference in Munich, is about the Western commitment to Kiev, where Albania is a country not only eager to protect the integrity of Ukraine, that is, not to recognize the Russian invasions there, but also that he is interested in this version.
This version interests Albanians first and foremost for Kosovo, where no advance, movement or maneuver outside the current world order will be recognized.
There are European countries, even NATO members, where a negotiation with Moscow is being debated, for what happened in Ukraine.
And this is actually what Vladimir Putin asked in the interview with the pro-Trumpist journalist Tucker Carlson. The bottom line is that Putin will be given an answer to his request for negotiations.
The US, not only will not negotiate, but has prepared for a long season of conflict with Moscow. Having its close allies by its side, even in the military aspect.
In addition to the Kuçova airbase, Albania is expected to soon be a military industrial theater, to enable the production of ammunition, which Ukraine needs. And for this there will be an infusion of American military industry in Albania.
Antony Blinken has come to ask Edi Rama to speak. On the other hand, Erdogan is said to have asked him to refuse, or at least to buy time for the American offer. But, Blinken, you will not lose a minute: O with us, O against us!
It is a chance that the USA gives to Edi Rama, without having a minute to think.
With this move, the Albanian prime minister may lose Turkey, which, on the other hand, has made it known that it will not tolerate it. It is about a reactivation of an ammunition production in the former factories of Elbasan, where "accidentally" last summer some Russian "tourists" appeared and were then arrested.
A very large amount of artillery ammunition is expected to be produced in Madras or Gramsh. Today, Ukraine requires more than 8,000 pieces per day, but the strategy is for a long-term crash plan. Turkey fears this maneuver, as it could be destabilized as a result of the Kurds, who are close allies of the Americans, just like the Albanians.
Blinken has come to Tirana to receive a written contract, that if Edi Rama does not give it, according to all likelihood, the USA has plans B, C, D, etc. ready, but first he asked Tirana, as he also asked for Bashar al-Assad's chemical weapons, which then Rama did not give him, because he feared the overthrow of his government by Ilir Meta.
This time, Rama does not have Meta as his opponent, but he has against a much more powerful man, Erdogan.
As it is known, from diplomatic sources, the USA plans for Albania to be a field for the production of ammunition, and in all probability, it cannot happen that a government stops this plan.
If Rama dared to do this, he would fall instantly. But the dilemma is, will Edi Rama use this new US request for a fourth term?
The chances are yes, and as it is seen, the weakening and damage of any possible successor is coming from this American support, which seems to have given him a green light for a long reign. This is because it is about a long season of war, where Washington, also as a result of lobbying by the Soros lobby, where Rama is an important part, is considered a more reliable partnership than a new one, which does not guarantee stability. / Pamphlet
