After leaving Albania, the US State Department disclosed the meeting between Secretary Antony Blinken and President Bajram Begaj that was held yesterday.
The focus of the meeting was undoubtedly the relations between the USA and Albania, as well as the support that America is giving to our country for justice reform, the European journey and many other areas.
President Begaj thanked Blinken for what the US is doing for Kosovo and the Region. On the other hand, Blinken has said that the US is grateful for this partnership, stressing that the challenges can only be faced together.
"This is a partnership and we are grateful for it. We know that so many of the challenges each of us face, we can face them more effectively together, not alone. And so that we have the friendship, the partnership - it has been 101 years of diplomatic relations, but in recent years especially we have seen the strength of the partnership in many different areas", said Blinken.

PRESIDENT BEGAJ: A great pleasure. Thank you.

PRESIDENT BEGAJ: It is very good that we can show that our strategic partnership is stronger than ever.
PRESIDENT BEGAJ: I am grateful for what you are doing for Albania, for Kosovo and in the region. And, of course, I cannot fail to mention that you have done so much for Albanian democracy, for the rule of law, for justice reform, for defense and security, and of course for the economy and education. And I can assure you that Albania is committed to always be with you, and of course, we will be a contributor to regional and global security.
SECRETARY BLINKEN: We see this every day. This is a partnership and we are grateful for it. We know that so many of the challenges each of us face, we can face them more effectively together, not alone. And so that we have the friendship, the partnership – it's been 101 years of diplomatic relations, but in the last few years especially we've seen the strength of the partnership in many different areas. So it is a great pleasure.
PRESIDENT BEGAJ: It is a strong message that you are supporting Albania, the Albanian foreign policy and of course the future of Albania - its path towards the European union.
SECRETARY BLINKEN: Yes.
PRESIDENT BEGAJ: And I am sure of this - and I see this visit as a bright future for Albania and our partnership. The strategic partnership will be for hundreds of years to come, so we will have time to celebrate.
SECRETARY BLINKEN: It's a very - very good wish.
