Unlike Sali Berisha, who blames Edi Rama for the election defeat, his ally Ilir Meta has a slightly different opinion. According to him, the problem must also be seen within oneself.
Meta gave an interview today from his cell and while commenting on the election result, where he failed to become an MP, he stated that those who were out of prison did not do enough to achieve a favorable result in the elections. So it seems that the leader of the PL also has criticism of his own people. " For me, the result is disappointing as a whole and not the fact that I did not become an MP. Those who were out of prison should have worked harder and better. Especially when competing with a captured state, captured media and an Electoral Code that is not favorable to the opposition ," Meta told "Syri TV".
But on the other hand, he has announced that there will be no coalition with Sali Berisha in the upcoming elections. He has said that PL will compete independently in the local government elections.
" Very soon we will have local elections and I am convinced that in the new Municipal Council we will have some very powerful and quality voices like Tedi Blushi. Likewise everywhere in every municipality, starting work now. Now that fortunately the DP has regained the seal that they had stolen for three years in the upcoming elections, the Freedom Party will compete with its logo at least in all Municipal Councils of Albania and will really prove its power. So at the beginning of the week we will start analyzing the elections ," he said.
While Meta is expected to launch an analysis within the PL, the situation in the DP is completely different. Berisha insists that the votes were stolen and there is no sign of an internal analysis within the blue camp.
