Over 40% of diaspora votes counted, PS leads by 20 thousand votes over DP;

The counting of votes within the country has closed, while the results of the diaspora votes are also awaited.

The latest data from the CEC confirms the dominance of  the SP  in the vote abroad as well, with a result exceeding 53% of support. So far, 79,409 envelopes out of a total of 194,889, or 40.7% of the diaspora votes, have been counted.

The SP has so far secured 42,492 votes, representing 53.97% of the total counted. The Democratic Party – Alliance for a Greater Albania (DP-ASHM) coalition has received 22,481 votes, or 28.55% of the votes counted so far.

In third place is the Coalition Nisma Albania Becomes (NISMA-SHB) with 6,670 votes, or 8.47%. The Together Movement secured 2,067 votes, or 2.63%, while the Opportunity Party received 2,781 votes, or 3.53%.

The results of the diaspora may produce surprises. Now that the counting of votes within the country has been completed, it will be the diaspora vote that will determine the distribution of mandates, although in a very small number, at least 2 or 3. A strong competition is taking place with the diaspora vote. Lapaj in Fier risks taking the mandate from the SP, which could drop from 12 to 11 mandates.

In Lezha, the SP could take a mandate from the DP and overturn the result again with the diaspora vote, 4 to 3 in its favor. Meanwhile, the SP took a mandate from the DP in Vlora. The data shows that the SP leads in 10 counties, Berat, Dibër, Durrës, Elbasan, Fier, Gjirokastër, Korçë, Lezha, Tirana and Vlora, while the opposition manages to hold only two bastions in the north, Kukës and Shkodër.

Although the KAS overturned the CEC decision, the counting of votes for Greece has not yet begun, as they await the KAS's decision. The PS requested that the KAS repeal an act of the chief commissioner that stipulated that any envelope from the diaspora that is contested be set aside in a special box. This decision came after the DP contested the vote for Greece, but Celibashi's act was overturned by the KAS.

Other parties ranked with less than 1% of the vote:

Social Democratic Party – 880 votes (1.12%)
Euro-Atlantic Coalition Party – 546 votes (0.69%)
Albanian National Alliance Party – 457 votes (0.58%)
Right Coalition for Development – 207 votes (0.26%)
Homeland Movement – 108 votes (0.14%)
New Democracy Alliance Party – 40 votes (0.05%)
