Opposition MPs have also boycotted today's meeting of the Special Commission for Territorial Reform, while Arbjan Mazniku warned that the Parliament will unblock the situation.
"We have given all the guarantees to the opposition to be part of the commission. Two months were lost that we could have had a product. We asked Parliament last week to change the way the commission is formed, by adding a member from the majority to create an unblocking mechanism.
"This does not mean that the opposition will not exist, it will have its eight members. In the meantime, we will start working on this process," said socialist Arbjan Mazniku.
Today was the deadline that the majority gave the DP to return to the committee, otherwise it would change the composition formula, which is expected to be passed in Tuesday's plenary session.
In the submitted proposal, the Socialists demand that the Commission not have two co-chairs, and that the Socialist Party have the majority of members. This means that the Socialists seem to be alone in drafting and approving the new territorial division, with which the 2027 elections will be organized.
