Democratic MP Agron Gjekmarkaj stated that he was waiting for the last decision of the Constitutional Court, which opened the way for the Rama-Meloni agreement for immigrants.
Invited to the show 'Debat' on A2 CNN, Gjekmarkaj said that justice in our country is under political influence. The democratic MP added that even the 5-4 vote of the members of the Constituent Assembly showed who was close to the government and voted in favor of the agreement.
"I waited for the decision of the Constitutional Court, as I had a doubt. The slogan "others are silent when justice speaks" does not apply in Albania. This slogan applies where democracy is perfected. We do not have justice outside of political influence. Even the split result of 5-4 shows that the judges who were close to the prime minister voted in his favor. It's one thing to have a romantic relationship and another to be directed and in command. PD lawyers make a serious argument, and politically, this is my conviction. Important voices have condemned this agreement, which also has a racist connotation for Albania. Shengjin should not be used as a ghetto surrounded by wire, it should promote tourism ", said Gjekmarkaj.
The agreement signed between the Albanian and Italian governments for housing a number of refugees in Lezhë was sent to the Constitutional Court by 30 opposition MPs, including Sali Berisha and Gazment Bardhi, who claim that the Rama-Meloni agreement violates the Constitution.
Just a few days ago, the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament approved with 155 votes in favor and 115 against (2 abstentions) the bill for the ratification of this agreement.
