From the window of his apartment, where he has been under house arrest since December 30, Sali Berisha reacted to the expulsion from the Assembly of 19 opposition MPs, who caused incidents during the last week in committees, but also in sessions.
Berisha described this decision as shameful and a dictatorial act of fear that seeks to silence the opposition voice.
He added that the opposition action is done to keep alive the pluralistic and democratic state, which according to him is endangered by the Rama government.
" Today, the Rama-Linda parliament, the parliament of shame that has never existed since the time of the dictatorship, expelled in an act of shame, in a real dictatorial act, in a real act of fear, 19 deputies, representatives of the opposition people, your representatives, only that they are standing as you are standing here in the name of truth.
They are standing in a battle with which they want to bring before you in the light of the sun, all the ugly crimes, the monstrous thefts of Edi Rama. They are standing up for their constitutional rights, which are also your rights.
Today, Linda of the parliament, a disgrace ready to destroy Albania for Edi Rama, followed the order of her boss Edi Rama and expelled 19 MPs, representatives of the opposition people, as if it were Lukashenko's Belarus, even there this does not happen. This is an act, a serious provocation for every citizen who believes in pluralism.
To those who usually obnoxiously raise questions about why they are doing this in parliament, I say to these wretches that a member of parliament in the USA can block the parliament for days without being expelled. What the deputies are doing in the parliament is what you are doing here, you are defending the truths, you are expressing the truths," he said.
