After Beqaja, Rama also defends Xhaçka: The Constitutionalist's

While justifying the affairs of Ilir Beqaj, Edi Rama has given signals that he does not intend to release Olta Xhaçka either, at least as far as the mandate is concerned.

He was asked during the conference with journalists about the procrastination that the Assembly is doing to the issue of the mandate of the MP due to conflict of interest and he said that the decision given by the Constituent Assembly is debatable.

" It does not appear to me that there is a clear and decisive decision of the Constitutional Court on this. The decision is of a different nature and not a final act. It's a question that needs to be asked, as I'm not clear ," he said.

The scandal is that for a year and a half, the majority has held the issue of Xhaçka's mandate hostage. Her husband turned out to be a strategic investor and according to the opposition we have a conflict of interest. The SP rejected the request once, but the Constitutional Court called it wrong and demanded that the request be approved and then this court will make the interpretation. Since the Assembly started in September, there has been no meeting of the Mandates Committee.
