The head of the government, Edi Rama, during the press conference from the Prime Minister's Office, also spoke about the issue that has frozen relations with Greece, that of Fredi Beleri.
During his speech, Rama said that he does not wish to fuel this debate further, as he added that this is a matter of justice, and the government does not interfere in its institutions.
He further accepted the fact that Greece can block Albania's integration process, but according to him this does not constitute a problem at the moment.
" Greek pressure, I have expressed my opinion, I do not want to fuel a debate where the government is not a party. We have nothing to do with this story. It is about an individual who was arrested in the act for buying votes. It is in a judicial process in the GJKKO, it is impossible to take the oath, because our law is very clear. The government has no role to play here. Maybe in the past the government was used to playing tell the justice what to do.
We cannot make justice available to the demands of foreigners. We do not interfere for any reason in the work of justice, let alone SPAK and GJKKO. They are products of an effort that we started, we carried it out, while the justice reform in reality must be implemented by them. We just need to support them by not interfering in their work.
Can Greece block? Yes it can, but then? If this will happen, when it happens you will hear my comment. I have said that it would be very non-serious that Albania, which is known today as a country completely different from what it was, is blocked for an issue that is not at all an issue of the negotiating framework with the EU, but even in the bilateral aspect, in my opinion, it is minor between the relationship between Albania and Greece ", said Rama.
