Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the leader of the Socialist Party, through a long speech delivered at the ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Party, has attempted to divide the protest that has been taking place for 13 days on 'Dëshmorët e Kombit' boulevard, demanding his resignation.
While describing the protest launched for Zvërnec as political in nature, Rama invited those who aim to protect Albania to join the Socialist Party. Praising the stance of the young people in the protest launched 13 days ago, Rama said that they have cleaned up "the filth of the Molotov cocktail association."
"If you really want to protect Albania, don't confuse the direction from which the danger to the environment, nature and Albania comes, but join the Socialist Party, which needs anyone who doesn't agree with what's wrong, but who is ready to fight with us to make things better."
With ideas, not with shouts, with proposals and with those who sit there at work, not just with selfie videos and gossip, with Albania in their hearts and minds at work, not Albania in their mouths and envy in their hearts and calculations in their minds. I am very clear that the protest has become political in nature, legitimate for anyone who wants to change Albania according to their approach.
Although people in Vlora love the project and are worried that their season is being damaged, various forces are throwing stones on the boulevard and hiding their hands.
Just like the opposition here throws its swamp to the trays that on their heels, collect 'likes' by walking with a mirror forward. The new parties that became old are looking for a piece there in the new flow. For the young men and women who truly believe that they are making a revolution, I have sympathy and I am open to talking, but I remain understanding if they do not want to talk.
They have done an extraordinary thing, they have cleaned up the filth of the Molotov cocktail association!", said Rama.
