The Chairperson of the Appeals Committee in the Democratic Party, Adriana Kalaja, in a statement to the media, stated that she has criminally reported Edi Rama to SPAK for the criminal offenses of not declaring expenses and falsifying declarations in ILDKPI.
Kalaja stated that in 2016, in the statement to the ILDKPI, Rama did not specify his gifts for the NBA matches in the USA.
However, during her speech, Kalaja states that she does not expect that SPAK will document these reports.
"We have asked the SPAk for verifications and an in-depth investigation about Rama's meeting in New York. According to our investigation, those bills go up to 1.5 million euros. According to the chronicles on Top Channel, it has been claimed about an exhibition of Rama there, but there is no other news after the PD's denunciation of this exhibition. According to our information, this exhibition has been opened and in this perspective we ask SPAK to investigate who paid for this exhibition as there is a clear separation between an activity of a political party and a government activity.
Rama in 2016 in the statement to the ILDKPI did not specify his gifts for NBA games in the USA. Rama has committed the criminal offense of not declaring expenses and falsifying declarations. We do not have any great hope that SPAK will document these criminal offenses that we have reported," said Kalaja.
