The leaders of the DP have gathered at the headquarters of the party at noon today, to discuss the last preparations before the protest, which will take place at 18:00.
Gazment Bardhi, Agron Gjekmarkaj, Oerd Bylykbashi, Edi Paloka and Albana Vokshi were present at the meeting.
The protest comes as a reaction to the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, which has increased political tensions after the sentence of MP Ervin Salianji to one year in prison by the Court of Appeal.
This decision has caused concerns within the opposition and has been seen as a sign of "political repression", so PD has decided to organize this protest to express its dissatisfaction and to mobilize support from the citizens.
In order to maintain peace and security during the protest, around 1,500 police forces will be deployed, including the police of order, the Rapid Intervention Force (RFIF) and the Eagles.
The Democratic Party has called for massive support, presenting this protest as an opportunity for citizens to express their voices and demand accountability from the government.
