The Constitutional Court's decision to suspend President Bajram Begaj's decree for the elections in Tirana on November 9 was, for lawyer Romeo Karaj, also a product of pressure from lawyers with their interpretations in television studios.
" I have never had the intention of favoring a political force and I have tried to either tell the truth or keep my mouth shut. I think that all the comments that were made about us who dared to predict, even though it was simple, to our detriment, may have influenced the judges to see it in our favor ," Karaj told "Report TV".
The lawyer said that the Socialist Party's decision to continue the campaign in Tirana is a method to downplay the news of the suspension of Begaj's decree.
"I do not believe that on November 9th we will have elections in Tirana. The SP's statements are to amortize this partial suspension of the decree, since the position is not legally vacant. At this moment, I say that I would like to call it legal and fair, but Tirana needs a mayor," said Karaj.
