The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, will begin a visit to the Balkans from November 19 to November 22, in the framework of which he will also visit Kosovo.
According to the announcement published by NATO, Stoltenberg will stay in Kosovo on Tuesday, where he will meet with President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
He will also visit the KFOR Camp "Nothing Hill", where he will meet with the KFOR Commander and address the troops.
He will also meet with the Director of the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team, Brigadier General Hammerstein.
This previously announced visit comes at a time when the European Commission confirmed the alarm raised by Ukraine about a Russian plan to destabilize the Western Balkans.
Spokesman Peter Stano asked about the statements of the leader of Kiev, Volodymyr Zelensky, who asked to pay a lot of attention to our region as Moscow is investing to ensure that the Balkan countries fight each other.
Initially, Stoltenberg will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he will have a working dinner with members of the Presidency.
On Monday, November 20, Stoltenberg will meet with the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt. He will also meet with the President of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krishto.
Stoltenberg will also visit the NATO headquarters in Sarajevo and will have meetings with military leaders and representatives of the international community.
On the same day, the Secretary General will continue his trip to Kosovo.
On Tuesday, November 21, the Secretary General will be in Belgrade, where he will have meetings with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and Prime Minister Ana Brnabić.
Later that day, Stoltenberg will travel to North Macedonia to meet with President Stevo Pendarovski and Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski.
He will also meet with the Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, and will deliver a speech in front of the Assembly.
On Wednesday, November 22, the Secretary General will attend a meeting with allied leaders from the region. The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, and the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Robert Golob, have been invited to participate, according to the NATO announcement.
