Ardian Isufi, has commented on the situation within the Democratic Party after recent developments around this political force. Isufi said that the division of the DP came from individuals, referring to former Prime Minister Berisha and Lulzim Basha.
He also stated that Basha is trying again to get the stamp of the Democratic Party and that the last division within this political force happened precisely because of his coming to the top.
Isufi stated that the return of Basha would not bring anything new and that they should have resigned to leave room for a new alternative.
He further added that schematic movements are being made in the elections for the election of the new president of the DP.
"The breakup of the Democratic Party has come at a very serious moment where the right and PD are no longer inspiring. Basha is trying to get the DP stamp again. One of the basic problems is that the membership of these parties is not known, and this is where the vote manipulation starts. Talk about these National Councils. It is understood that this development is being done so that Basha will be at the head of the Democratic Party of Vula.
It is very clear that a small part of the PD wants Basha to come again to be at the service of a small group and not the Albanian society. Today, there is no longer a need for a Democratic Party. The right wants a new alternative. The return of Basha would not bring anything new, since in the elections there would be a loss of the democrats' vote again. There should have been a resignation of Berisha and Basha together. Everything is happening for the personal interests of two groups that no longer have anything to give to the DP.
Through this mediocrity of the DP, the power is being given to the SP and Rama.The position benefits greatly from this internal struggle, as the opposition does not deal with the important problems, but with this provincial struggle. There had to be a new spirit, to bring new characters to the party.
If we also look at the conditions set for the president, no space is given to new trends. I think that all these movements are schematic for the election of the chairman. There are names that claim to legitimize the elections. Society today has advanced and this political class is holding it hostage. The individual is moving faster than this political structure from both sides. Everyone talks about Europe, but there is a contradiction with reality. The new alternative must be far from the DP. Society cannot be held hostage by some politically exhausted people," Isufi told News24.
