The deputy of the Democratic Party, Kreshnik Çollaku, has said that there are two ways for the DP to win and come to power, which according to him are the union of the opposition and relations that do not affect the relationship with the USA.
The democratic deputy stated that Sali Berisha should withdraw, since the whole party cannot be sacrificed after declaring him non-grata.
"We had a debate within ourselves, a serious debate that had logic and arguments on both sides. A part thought that after May 14 we will get an 8-month period for analysis, which would be ok. The rest thought we should go to fill the vacancies. I agree with the second rupee that I think we have no time to waste. Today, PD does not have a leader.
I am realistic in my assessment of Berisha, I recognize his strength and contribution. I think that the biggest obstacle related to it is due to a principled position... DP's relations with the USA are primary and non-negotiable. DP cannot isolate itself with the US for personal reasons.
The official PD received 106 thousand votes, while the coalition received 240 thousand votes, and if you remove an important contingent from Meta, the difference does not exceed 40 thousand votes. This showed that there are not only two people from the official DP, but we are divided almost in half.
Unification and undamaged relations with the US are the two ways that PD will come to power. I have my reservations about Basha, but I cannot say today if I will vote for Lulzim Basha or not because I want to see if he will convince us or not in correcting the defects", Çollaku told News24 .
