A hornet's nest in the service of hatred: How Ankara is spreading anti-Semitism in Albania and Kosovo!
At the behest of Turkish intelligence services, the pro-Erdogan media network in Tirana, Pristina and Skopje has moved from propagandistic rhetoric to extreme language against Israel and pro-Jewish communities, seriously jeopardizing Albanians' strategic relations with the West...
For the past few weeks, new orders have been coming from Ankara, or rather from the intelligence services, for "hornets' nests" in the Balkan countries. This is what opinion-processing centers call the stations of pro-Erdogan groups in territories with Ottoman influence, which includes Albania and territories with an Albanian majority in the region.
The latest messages include an increase in the dose of anti-Semitism in Ankara-linked media, which has now reached an extreme stage. If previously Israel was attacked as a state that commits atrocities against the Palestinians, now it is being openly articulated that Israel should not exist.
The same names and figures are at the forefront of this rhetoric, those who have previously been on the front lines of attacks against the Gülen network and who run media outlets with Islamic content in Tirana, Pristina, and Skopje.
These media outlets, after long cultivating a language of hatred against Jews and Israel, now speak the language of Hamas, spreading the infamous slogan: "From the river to the sea," a slogan aimed at wiping Israel off the map.
One of the most prominent voices in this discourse is theologian Justinian Topulli, who published an excerpt from Eqrem Vlora’s memoirs about the fall of the Ottoman Empire to reinforce the idea that the creation of the Jewish state has brought fire to the Arab world. A coded message, but readable for the intended audience. The media, which is run by a radical Turkish intelligence center, with a presence in Pristina and Tirana, has gone further, describing Israel as a “delinquent state.”
This escalation of rhetoric comes as a result of the direct clash between Turkey and Israel in Syria. With the Turkish penetration into Syrian territory and with the support of militias linked to Erdogan's secret services, Christian, Kurdish and Druze communities have been systematically targeted. Precisely in the south of Syria, near the Golan Heights and the border with Israel, these militias have massacred hundreds of members of the Druze community. This community, although Arab, is closely linked to Israel, where over 100 thousand Druze live, integrated even into the Israeli Armed Forces (IDF).
Israel considers the Druze people a brotherly people, and as a result, their protection has become a strategic issue. Precisely for this reason, after Israel's intervention in Syria and the bombing of several targets near Damascus, the reaction of Ankara-linked media in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia escalated significantly.
In Albania, the Druze community is little known, and for Albanians in general they are an unknown community that seeks to live in peace. However, Ankara's media in Tirana and Pristina have headlined: "The Druze, the 'fathers of the world' of the Middle East", a derogatory label that also hits the Albanian Bektashis.
Another article reads: "They have Muslim names, but they are loyal to Israel," while others: "Acts by Israelis of Druze gangs in Suwayda."
This hate speech is not at all accidental. With the weakening of Iranian influence, Turkey has taken on a new role as a protector and financier of Hamas.
Hamas leaders have taken refuge in Istanbul and Ankara has become a propaganda center for this organization, whose messages are also being conveyed in Tirana, Pristina and Skopje. This constitutes a direct threat to the strategic relations of Albanians with the West, at a time when Israel has recognized the independence of Kosovo and has strengthened ties with Albania, while the two centers of Palestinian power refuse to recognize Kosovo as a state and still consider it part of Serbia./ Pamphlet
