President Bajram Begaj has decreed the changes in the government.
President Bajram Begaj decreed the decision to dismiss three ministers and appoint three others to the Rama government cabinet.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the changes in the government on Sunday, during the Electoral Congress of the SP. It took Begay two days to approve these changes, issuing the decrees. We remind you that today at 18:00 the Assembly will meet in a special session to approve these changes.
Socialists, on the other hand, have collected the signatures for the proposal of Elisa Spiropali as the new Speaker of the Assembly, after the resignation of Lindita Nikolë.
Three new members will be added to the Rama Government, while the most surprising of all was the departure of Taulant Balla as Minister of the Interior after a year after being appointed to one of the most important departments. However, Balla will not leave the cabinet, even though this time he will be a minister without portfolio, as he will replace Elisa Spiropali as Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament.
The new Minister of the Interior will be Ervin Hoxha, who until now holds the position of chief inspector of IMT. The Ministry of Defense will be headed by Pirro Vengu, who until now has held the position of director of the Durrës Port Authority. The new Minister of Finance will be Petrit Malaj, who takes the place of Ervin Metes.

The President of the Republic of Albania, Sh. TZ Bajram Begaj, in implementation of his constitutional powers, considered the proposal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Sh. TZ Edi Rama, dated July 28, 2024, for the dismissal and appointment of several ministers.
At the end of the review procedure, the President of the Republic, Sh. TZ Bajram Begaj, decreed today, July 30, 2024:
The dismissal of the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Taulant Balla;
The dismissal of the Minister of Defense, Mr. Niko Peleshi;
The dismissal of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ervin Mete;
Dismissal of the Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament, Mrs. Elisa Spiropali;
The appointment of the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Ervin Hoxha;
The appointment of the Minister of Defense, Mr. Pirro Vëngu;
The appointment of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Petrit Malaj;
The appointment of the Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament, Mr. Taulant Balla.
