After the changes in the government, the Assembly convenes today in a special session for the approval of the new government cabinet.
As today it is expected that the president will decree these changes, this afternoon, at 18:00, the Assembly will meet, even though last Thursday and Friday was the last session for this session.
The MPs will vote on these changes in the government, which were announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama during the Electoral Congress of the SP on Sunday.
Prime Minister Edi Rama gathered the socialist parliamentary group this Monday morning, one day after the changes in the government. During the work of the Socialist Electoral Congress, Rama announced three moves in the government cabinet. The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla leaves this position and is appointed Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament. Balla gave way to the head of IKMT, Ervin Hoxha. Niko Peleshi is another minister who leaves the government for another job, that of the chairman of the socialist parliamentary group.
While not a little surprising was the dismissal of the Minister of Finance, Ervin Mete, and the appointment in his place of the director of AKBN, Petrit Malaj.
During yesterday's meeting of the parliamentary group, it was learned from sources that Prime Minister Rama put the emphasis exactly on yesterday's work of the Congress and the decisions made there. Rama introduced the three new ministers Pirro Vengu, Petrit Malaj and Ervin Hoxha. Also, it is known that the head of the government during his speech before the MPs expressed appreciation for the work of the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, and Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi.
Balla left the Ministry of Interior 1 year after being appointed to this position. In the annual analysis of the department he leads, Balla said that the year 2024 is a historic year in terms of order and security, since the number of murders in the country is three times less than in previous years. Ervin Mete, the outgoing Minister of Finance, was not present at the meeting of the socialist parliamentary group.
