"Pressure from citizens", Korreshi reveals the DP's strategy:
Saimir Korreshi

Democratic MP Saimir Korreshi spoke about the opposition's goals with the protests and the DP's strategy.

Korreshi said that the majority's theft has reached its peak and to the point of madness, aiming to steal every budget fund or Albanian tax, so the only solution remains to increase citizen pressure on the government through protests, and not just from the opposition.

"I think there is only one thing left to aim for. The main goals of the opposition with these protests are the resignation of the government, the caretaker government and holding early elections. At this level that they are stealing and wasting public funds, there is nothing else left, they have committed genocide with public funds. Just like that place in Xhafzotaj in Durrës, that tax haven place there that did not exist, like the Incinerators. At this level they have reached, theft and fraud, building permits for oligarchs who treat them as their soldiers, it can even go as far as stealing salary funds ," said the MP, denouncing the latest financial scandals.

But is it only the opposition that should hold protests and how important is participation in the square? Korreshi thinks that pressure should be increased and that only citizens do this, not the opposition, because protests should not be held just for names or parties.

"The opposition is doing its duty to call people and invite them to join. But I think that the greatest pressure should come from the citizens and not the opposition. It is in the hands of the people to overthrow the government, the greater the citizen pressure and the pressure, the less this type of theft will remain in the government. If people do not stand up for themselves, because there is also the economic side, so they should stand up for themselves and not for specific names or for us", the democrat MP underlined.

But what will be the further strategy and the steps that will be followed?

"They have been discussed in the Presidency, I am not part of it. We will have a meeting of the parliamentary group today or tomorrow. We will also have pressure in Parliament where we have the means for pressure, in addition to protests in the square and I believe and hope that we will also be supported by the people. People and their livelihoods are being abused, so we need to put politics and this situation on track," Korreshi concluded on "News 24".
