The Political Leader of the Liberal Party, Lefter Maliqi, spoke about the situation from the repeated floods in the Berat Region.
He described it as "fraud, abuse, incompetence and irresponsibility" of local and central government.
Maliqi emphasized that the residents of Dimali rose up in protest against millions of lek stolen abusively for the embankment and the receptions that were made by the Salillari firm, but added that he was present in the Kuçova area and saw the situation in all the flooded areas.
He calls on citizens to join the opposition protest on January 24th and to take to the streets, in revolt, to return the country to free and fair elections as soon as possible.

On behalf of the Freedom Party, Berat Region.
As the Political Leader of that Region, I denounce with the greatest force the fraud, abuse, incompetence and irresponsibility of local and central government with the repeated floods in the Berat Region.
I support every resident who has risen in protest in the Dimal municipality and throughout the Berat region, for 100% compensation for the damages from this repeated flood.
We saw, not long ago and the day before yesterday, ministers and local government leaders in the Kucova and Dimal areas, with shows and propaganda, wearing boots or boots and other demonstrative clothing and no help for those residents.
Negligence, despite the natural disaster, especially in the Kucova area, with the opening of the gates of Banja, no one was notified, for hours, about the opening of this gate, so that residents could take measures to evacuate and protect their property, livestock, etc.
In the area of Dimal, Polican, and Ciflik, there were massive floods.
The residents of Dimali rose up in protest against millions of lek stolen abusively for the embankment and the receptions that were made by the Salillari firm, but I declare that in the Kuçova area I was present in all the flooded areas, because it affects that area.
Especially in the area of Sals Kozare, Kozare, Ferras, Ferm Partizani, Tapi, Rreth Tapi, the floods were massive.
And in the footage, residents denounce the negligence of the local government, where it has been over 10-20 years since the drainage canals were not cleaned by the local government.
Likewise, the landfill at Fermë Partizani, near the municipality of Kucova, was taken by the river, meaning the garbage that was in an area that shouldn't have been there, was distributed throughout all the agricultural lands.
Even worse, Kucova has oil wells everywhere and they are spread all over agricultural lands.
I denounce and strongly demand compensation for all residents flooded by this great natural disaster.
The PL structures, the Political Leaders in Dimal, Berat, but also in Kuçovë, have been present with the residents to massively support them.
I declare that in Sals Kozare alone, over 100 hectares of land, 10 hectares of greenhouses, and about 5 hectares of citrus trees have been flooded.
Likewise, birds and animals and about 20 flooded houses.
Once again, rest assured, residents, left and right, the 24th has arrived.
The united opposition will be in the square, in revolt to help the people, to return the country to free and fair elections as soon as possible, to a technical government, and to restore the victory of local and central government not only in Kuçovë, Berat, but throughout Albania.
