Almost the entire parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, with the exception of 5 deputies, became part of the primaries. But regardless of the membership vote, the final decision on who will be a candidate for deputy will be made by the Presidency of this political force.
Yesterday, the Democrats selected, through the primaries process in 12 districts, the candidates who will run for deputies on the Democratic Party list in the May 11 elections.
Through the "one member, one vote" principle, Democrats voted among 288 candidates across the country.
According to the Democratic Party, these primaries marked the highest turnout in the domestic electoral processes, with 50,854 voters.
The largest number of voters was registered in Tirana with 13,052 participants, followed by Durrës (4,920) and Korça (4,826).
Meanwhile, the results have also been released, as counting has already been completed in some of the main cities.
In Korça, the most voted with 1219 votes is MP Bledion Nallbati, followed by Edmond Spaho, Ledina Alolli and Andrea Mano.
In Shkodra, the 3 most voted are the former mayor, Bardh Spahia with 380 votes, Ndoc Ashta with 228 votes and Arben Lushaj with 219 votes. Next are the names of Kol Livadhi, Greta Bardeli, Tedi Kopliku and Eliona Shkreli.
In Gjirokastra, Alma Buci Kore received the most votes, in Vlora, Atird Hoxha leads, while MP Ina Zhupa did not receive many votes.
In Fier, the counting was completed in the early hours of the morning and the most voted candidate was Eduart Sharka, followed by MP Luan Baçi, followed by Saimir Korreshi.
In Lezha , the most voted is Gjin Gjoni, followed by Aleksandër Lala and after them comes MP Lindita Metaliaj.
Former judge Sheikh Gjin Gjoni won at the district level with 674 votes, followed by former head of the DP in Mirdita, Aleksandër Lala with 438 votes and MP Elda Hoti with 394 votes.
In the city of Durrës, Igli Cara ranks first, followed by Manjola Luku, while Berisha's spokesperson suffers a deep defeat, collecting only 32 votes.
In Elbasan, Dashnor Sula leads with 550 votes, followed by Blendi Himçi with 510 votes and Ilirjan Alliu with 421 votes. Seventh is MP Lefter Geshtenja with 216 votes.
Meanwhile, the counting of the last boxes for Tirana continues.
In the Tirana District, Jorida Tabaku is among the most voted and turns out to be the first among the ladies, leading with 650 votes.
The candidates with the most votes in the Tirana District are Ilir Alimehmeti, followed by several new figures in the party, as well as the candidates proposed by Kavaja and Kamza.
