Argita Berisha, the daughter of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, in a statement to the media from the protest being held in front of the Assembly, expressed her belief that more and more people will join this resistance in the coming days.
She said that more important than numbers is the spirit to protect the country and principles.
'This protest is an appeal to the rest of the population to stay. This morning I came across an expression, it doesn't matter what burden you carry but how you carry it. It is not a matter of numbers, but a matter of spirit. The important thing is that the man does what he has to do. We are here for the principles and Berisha is doing what every citizen should do. I did not think that they should reach this violation of the law. This is a terrible bell for the population, said Argita Berisha.
Asked about SPAK's request for authorization to change the security measure against her father, Berisha said that that request has very serious legal violations.
Meanwhile, parallel to the protest, the meeting of the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity has started, which is considering the request of SPAK to remove the immunity of Sali Berisha.
The socialist members of the Council are present there and Enkelejd Alibeaj has joined them as a member from the ranks of the opposition.
The other democratic deputies who have supported Berisha in parliament such as Gazment Bardhi, Greta Bardeli, Ervin Salianji and Saimir Korreshi do not participate in this meeting.
SPAK prosecutors who are investigating the case, Arben Kraja and Enkeleda Millonai, are also present there.
