Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa has reacted harshly to the situation created in Vlora, where citizens have protested over the lack of water.
Zhupa has ironized the statements of Mayor Brunilda Mersini, as the latter stated that "citizens should not complain about the lack of water, but should wash themselves with champagne."
According to Zhupa, the government lives in a parallel reality, amidst luxury, concerts, wine, and tenders, while citizens face the lack of basic needs.
The MP evaluates the protest of the citizens of Vlora as an act of dignity and citizenship, emphasizing that they have the right to demand minimal services.
"Brunilda Mersini, the mayor of Vlora, is said to have said: Why do people complain about water and not wash themselves with champagne?!
They have started in Vlora and Albania and changed in parallel with concerts, balls, wine and tenders!!
"I beg you to protest," Ina Zhupa writes on Facebook.
