
The majority and the opposition have come together in voting on the draft declaration for the request to lift the martial law from Greece.
At the time of voting, 96 deputies were present in the plenary session, who voted in favor of this draft declaration.
Before the request was put to the vote, the head of the parliamentary group of the SP, Bledi Çuçi, called the law of war of Greece against Albania a "historical stupidity", as he said that they asked for it to be abolished to give it a other dynamics of the Albania-Greece neighborhood.
"We will not have to wait to correct this historical stupidity. The government has made efforts to close this issue. We have requested that this law be repealed to give another dynamic to the neighborhood. Albania and Greece can be an example. excellent how good neighborliness produces the future. We invite the Parliament of Albania to approve the correction of this injustice. The Greek minority in our country has never been denied their rights because of their origin. We also want to finalize the agreement on pensions, just like we did with Italy", said Çuçi.
It is about a law that dates back to November 10, 1940, when the royal decree on the state of war between Greece and Italy and Albania was announced. At that time, all the assets of the Albanians in Greece were seized and started to be administered by the Greek state.
