SP rejected the motion with debate, Bardhi: The majority is afraid of

The Democratic Party, through the head of the Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has insisted on developing a motion with debate in the Assembly regarding the government's program, especially in the field of Albania's integration into the European Union.

This request was considered during the meeting of the Conference of Presidents, but was rejected by the majority.

Bardhi emphasized that the request of the DP Parliamentary Group to hold a debate on the motion is completely legal and in accordance with the Assembly's regulations.

"No session has been scheduled for this Thursday, and we request that this motion be held on this very day," he said, adding that this debate is an important opportunity to discuss Albania's aspiration for membership in the European Union.

Bardhi accused the majority of avoiding debate and transparency regarding European integration policy.

"The majority avoids debate and transparency for the government, by rejecting the request for a motion," he stressed, demanding that the Conference of Speakers immediately decide on the development of this motion.

Addressing the majority, Bardhi said that "you were the ones who shouted in the Assembly that the opposition does not want a debate. Today, you are the ones who are proving who does not want a debate, who does not have a balance to face in the debate, who does not have a clear program for what you have declared as a priority, namely EU membership."

He described this rejection of the motion as a sign of fear of facing the opposition and the lack of a concrete balance sheet for the realization of promises.

"The government's only balance sheet is where they will travel for meetings, who they will give building permits to, what is the next concession or what money will be stolen," said the head of the DP group.

He added that these are the government's priorities and not the European integration process, for which the majority does not have a clear plan.
