Why is Elisa Spiropali silent?
Edi Rama and Elisa Spiropali /

The warning against Spiropali does not seem to be simply party discipline, but fear of a voice that could awaken socialists tired of the arrogance, clientelistic appointments and political emptying of the left...

Edi Rama, after forbidding her from speaking and making any kind of gesture at the SP parliamentary group meeting, gave Elisa Spiropali a final warning at the last meeting.

The news was spread by Rama's propaganda "kitchen", with a ready-made text, according to which the prime minister warned him that if he spoke again or took another political action, he would be expelled from the group. The same office also spread the other version: that Elisa had said that if Rama expelled him, it was okay, but if she expelled him (meaning Balluku), she would not accept it. A chaotic spin, to lead the debate to the abyss that Rama wants, a technique used for years. Any criticism or debate that he did not like, he channeled as a personal conflict within his ranks, and not as an expression of real dissatisfaction with the way the majority is led.

A few weeks ago, Elisa Spiropali published a 'pamphlet' emphasizing that she was being forced to remain silent, adding that she was not afraid of warnings and blackmail and that she would move forward.

Politics is neither a workshop nor a night school, where you can be active one day and absent for a week. It is a continuous battle, where once you enter, you must move forward to gain ground day after day, until you achieve the objective you have set for yourself.

It is a path where you can fall, stumble, be injured, hurt, and perhaps even be politically “eliminated.” But if you leave a trace, it remains as a mark on the path trodden.

Elisa Spiropali has become a real concern for Edi Rama. Not for the "bombs" she may have dropped publicly, but because she has awakened his inner fear.

A fear that raising the voice of his "Mummy" might also awaken others, those who are tired of the long and often absurd arrogance of power. Those who feel unrepresented, ignored and insulted within the Socialist Party and the administration.

Elisa's "awakening" represents for Rama the risk of a breach in his image as strong and uncontested. A breach that could turn into a broader reaction; from the opposition, citizens, and the socialists themselves.

Precisely for this moment, which may be brief, Elisa Spiropali should not remain silent nor divert the debate to where Rama wants, to procedural issues or personal conflicts within the party.

If she is angry about the manner of her removal from the government, a removal that could be perceived as unfair and insulting, then she should react and wage a political battle for her dignity.

But more than that, it must seize the moment to awaken socialists.

Perhaps her departure is a "providential" moment to instigate a domestic reaction against arrogance, abuse of power, blocking the renewal of elites, and the deformation of political representation.

A majority that, according to public perception, is increasingly controlled by interests outside of classical politics; from clientelistic networks to structures that influence decision-making through appointments in the administration.

These structures constitute a form of functional oligarchy, where political control is often relativized, even for the prime minister himself.

In this context, Elisa Spiropali must speak now, and clearly.

Not only for himself, but to stop a process that aims, according to this perspective, to undo every interest group and every internal balance in the SP, replacing them with new structures of personal loyalty.

A process that is expected to be reflected in the selection of candidates for local government, transforming the party from a political organization into a mechanism for representing fragmented interests.

If this continues, the risk is that the Socialist Party will lose its ideological identity and turn into a hybrid structure, where incompatible interests coexist; from clientelism to external political influences.

A trajectory that is not unknown in Europe. And where recent examples show that the end of the classical left does not always come from the opponent, but from internal transformation./ Pamphlet

Kjo gogla mbani mend, do te quhet nje Ben Blushi i dyte. Kjo eshte aq keq deri ne fyt, por jo vetem kjo eshte sebashku me familjaret e saj te afert, qe karoministri ja di mire te gjitha zullumet. Tani imagjinoni pak nje njeri qe eshte ne buze te humneres ti ngreje zerin e ti beje karshillik atij qe e nguli neper kolltuqe. Vetem nje njeri pa dy pare mend nuk e kupton qe kjo eshte e gjitha loje e karoministrit, per te hequr qafe edhe ata pak zera kunder qe rrijne ne hije dhe presin momentin per ta fundos.
