Ilir Meta, a few days ago issued a statement, which escaped without being analyzed in the public opinion. This is also a consequence of the drumming of brochkullas or kyfyrs that we are used to hearing and watching from him for a long time now.
However, in the 5-minute 'psychic stream' before the leaders of the Freedom Party, Meta, in the context of the attack on SPAK and its leader, Altin Dumani, publicly announced that his party "is not Euro-Atlantic, but patriotic".
This statement, in reality, does not express anger or emotion, but it appears to be a political attitude, which Ilir Meta wants to show to someone.
The annoyance, or rather the dislike of Ilir Meta for Americans, but also for Western Europeans, is known and there is no room for much discussion.
The former President is in a situation of almost war with the West, as a result of his personal problems. Both Meta and Sali Berisha consider the USA as the cause of the investigations against them.
Meanwhile, Iliri is one of the most popular political actors in the country, who aims to increase the popular support of his party. And to do this, he announced that his political force "is not Euro-Atlantic". So it is neither for the continuation of the NATO alliance, where Albania is a member with full rights, nor for the entry into the European Union, where Albania is a candidate.

But Meta, with the statement two days ago, announced the opposite. Is it sending a message to the West? There is no chance for this, since even when he was President, the USA and the EU did not consider him as a factor at all. Abandoning it on all levels. In a way, he told Meta to follow your path.
This time, the head of the Freedom Party has sent a message somewhere else, somewhere that has nothing to do with the Americans. How to say that "I am a potential ally of yours". In North Macedonia, Ilir Meta is an ally of VRMO-DPMNE and at the weekend he met with Prime Minister Kristian Mickovski. Who has a strategic dilemma, but has announced that his party is Euro-Atlantic but not even patriotic.
Meta declared otherwise. Even Vucic, who intends to become a member of the EU and gave a large lithium contract to Germany, does not rule out a good relationship with Russia and China, with the Western connection.
So why did Ilir Meta make this statement in his party? It seems that the only mission that remains to be explained coincides with the drought of his popular support. He wants to remain a minority, but identified as against the West, even very soon according to the likelihood he will make strong moves. Meanwhile, contacts with Russia and China have been active for quite some time. Meta no longer seeks to hide, thus returning to his political origins, as he himself has shown in his first interview as President of the Republic.
