The Court of Appeal has upheld the initiation of investigations against the Files Authority, sued by former president Ilir Meta. The former head of state sued the File Authority after they published a file accusing him of being part of the former State Security.
The Court of Appeal has upheld the decision of the Tirana Court of December 9, which decided to initiate investigations for the File Authority sued by Meta.
The Court of Tirana emphasized in its decision that after the registration of the criminal proceedings, the prosecution body must interrogate Filip Talon, the person who was reported by I.M to the former state security.
Also, the Court ordered the prosecution to administer the entire administrative practice followed by AIDSSH from the moment of notification/reception of the anonymous e-mail and thereafter. The court also requests the questioning of all members of the Dossier Authority.
The former head of state Ilir Meta filed criminal charges against Gentiana Sula, Albert Nikolla, Altin Hoxha, Gjergj Marku and Skënder Vrioni, alleging that they falsified state documents, computer falsification, falsified seals, stamps or forms, misused their duties, spread false information that incites panic as well as disclosed acts or secret data.
