Prime Minister Rama, during a meeting in Vlora, promised that foreign patients from countries in the region would come to be treated in Tirana, while the QSUT lacks medicines and surgeries for Albanian patients.
In the absence of a program, during his speech, Rama did not mention pensioners for a moment, who have not benefited from any real increase in their pensions for 12 years.
While cancer patients are suffering from a lack of medications and equipment, and every day another scandalous news is published about the state of the emergency service, Prime Minister Rama emphasized that very soon foreign patients will come to Albania for treatment.
What stood out was the fact that Edi Rama tactically avoided talking about increasing pensions for over 700,000 pensioners, who have not benefited from any increase for 12 years.
"One of our objectives, based on work done, not dreams, is to give the country a new opportunity in this 5-year period, in terms of health service by expanding our capacities to provide extra health services. Making QSUT a center of excellence in health in the region is possible and the plan is very clear and the partners are extraordinary.
"We want to start building another hospital, of a higher level, we are working on this. I am talking about a public hospital, with a partnership scheme with a friendly country to create conditions so that in the next decade no one has anything that they cannot get here to go to Turkey and Italy. Albania should become a reference point for the countries of the region and we will soon finalize it," Rama said today.
