The Socialist Party officially opens the campaign for the May 11 elections today with a rally in 'Skënderbej' Square in Tirana.
And while yesterday evening the Democrats led by Sali Berisha opened the campaign in 'Mother Teresa' Square, Rama had chosen a meeting with the women and girls of the Socialist Party, to send signals that the Socialists' campaign will be based precisely on their strength.
But yesterday's socialist activity failed, as with the exception of Berat, it was not possible to establish contact with any of the socialist regions or headquarters in the Diaspora. This situation seems to have caused embarrassment to the Prime Minister, who was forced to give a speech for more than 90 minutes to fill the gap.
Meanwhile, today it is expected that the Head of Government, and also of the Socialist Party, will once again have the main attention.
A day earlier, Rama expressed his conviction for the victory of the Socialist Party, emphasizing the advantage that the Socialists have, which has to do with the fact that the majority of women and girls in Albania support this political force.
But today he is also expected to determine the objective, that is, how many votes or parliamentary mandates the Socialists will aim for in the May 11 elections.
In the "Eye to Eye" column, he stated that the SP must work to secure 1 million votes on May 11, thus "shielding" a fourth mandate.
And to fulfill this objective, Rama is playing with Albania's EU membership card, calling on Albanians, regardless of whether or not they are members of other parties, to support the SP because it is the only force that can make membership possible.
With language almost similar to previous elections, Rama has stated that those who do not vote for this political force would be better off staying home than casting their votes for swamps and marshes, as he considers Berisha's DP and other small and new parties competing on May 11.
"April 12th from 12 districts around the 12 stars of Europe at 12:00, our great political family gathers at Skanderbeg Square for the festive meeting Albania 2030 in the EU," Rama wrote on social media when announcing the meeting.
Today's date was chosen because of the symbolism of the 12 stars on the EU flag, which is also the focus of Prime Minister Rama's campaign, namely integration into the European Union.
