Rama thanks Balluku: Now she will only have her lawyers by her side
Prime Minister Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama concluded his speech for over an hour at the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group with a thank you to Belinda Balluku for leading the Ministry of Infrastructure for six years.

He said that now Balluku will only have her lawyers on her side in her confrontation with the judiciary.

"I thank Belinda for the great work she did in the tasks I entrusted to her for 6 years in a row and I wish her the luck she deserves, whatever the luck she deserves, in the legal battle for which she will have only her lawyers by her side. I apologize for the repeated rejections of her 3 resignations which, despite her interest or even the view of some friends here, were to ease the pressure on her or on us," said Rama.

The Prime Minister announced that she will continue her political activity in the Fier region and will seek the support of citizens even without holding a position in the executive branch.

"Even here among us there are some who think that Belinda's exemplary electoral victories stem from the power of the government she had, this remains to be seen in the upcoming local elections of Fier where she will continue to lead the district and will not be in any executive power. But what I know for sure is something else, that few of us here maintain contacts with the territory like Belinda Balluku, by regularly going to the areas she covers as a political leader," said Rama.

He stated that he hopes that SPAK will investigate to the end every lead that could lead to corruption.

"I have no plans to declare Belinda a hero or a victim today and I hope that in the investigation of the case she is accused of having committed, the prosecution will exhaust every trail that could lead to corruption, because at the end of the day, everyone after 18 depends only on their own feet by law and custom. Meanwhile, as prime minister, unlike what those who have no idea of this duty think and say, I am neither able nor allowed, either by law or custom, to hold any collaborator in contempt. I do not intend to tell you, especially to those of you who know her better than others, that Belinda is a person who is easy to tolerate at work, because more or less we all know how easy it is to deal with her. Especially when her head tells her that she is right and wants to get her way at all costs. I have no intention of declaring her innocent of what she is accused of or "To cross the red line that I drew in front of the deputies in this hall the day after the approval of the justice reform and that applies to everyone equally," said the leader of the Socialist Party.
