Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced a significant change in the administration structure, stating that prefects will receive expanded powers and will function as more powerful representatives of the government in the territory.
During his speech at the Assembly of the Socialist Party of Albania, Rama said that the prefects will be turned into 12 deputy interior ministers in the territory.
According to Rama, this measure aims to strengthen government support at the local level and ensure that prefects are not simply "signatories", but active actors in the implementation of policies.
The Prime Minister stated that civil emergencies will change and the fire brigade fleet in Albania will be increased, emphasizing that all inspection vehicles will be produced in Albania.
"The trend of returns has started. Things have started so well, Berat is the city where there are more returns than departures, not according to me, but according to several joint studies. In all parts of the territory, the trends have started to change, because it is clear that Albania is very good, for those who put their minds to work, and it is not good for those who want to stay in the Molotov organization. The Perfects will take another power, those who will only sign will not stay. The Perfects will be 12 deputy ministers in the territory, they will be a great change and support for the government in the territory. We will also change civil emergencies, we will increase the fire brigade fleet in Albania. We will produce not only fire brigades, but all inspection vehicles in Albania, not only in 2035, but we have started ordering now", said Rama.
