Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the myth of impunity has fallen.
During his speech at the Expanded Assembly of the SP in Dibër, Rama emphasized that SPAK did not come from the USA or the EU, but came from the Albanian society's need for justice that took over the SP.
Undoubtedly, this reform would not be possible if we did not have the support of our allies. But the USA and the EU have been in Albania since 1991 and they did not do it.
"Today, everyone is vulnerable and the myth has fallen. There are no individuals who go unpunished in Albania. This should, I think, make every member of this political family proud because this historic step in the entire journey of this country since it raised the flag of independence could only be made possible by the SP. I will also talk about a number of other important things that have been achieved, but none of those that are in a long list of things that we have managed to achieve have the weight of this justice, and all of them together do not the weight of the historical importance of this justice reform, which we dreamed of, and when I say we, I mean all the members of this political family, because unfortunately, affairs and politics in Albania were divided in such a way where the politics and its bad side, the socialists have suffered on their skin since the first day.
They suffered it on their skin when they were thrown on the street like rags from work, when even their family members could not see a door of the state being opened for them, but they also suffered it when they won the elections, and they could not enjoy the victory because screamed a man who had nothing to do with European countries and European aspirations. They have suffered because in the history of freedom and pluralism in the country, the burden has always been on the socialists to rebuild what others have destroyed. If you give each child the panorama of these years, and tell them who is one side and the other, here is the field and here is what they have done, name them.
You have two names, builder and destroyer. Every kid knows who they're going to name the destroyer and the builder since '91. This party has always had the sense of the state, that the state comes before power, despite the moments when the SP has also made mistakes and it is no coincidence that this reform, which all socialists wanted like all Albanians, but also as people who need justice they watched it for their daily life. This party may have made many mistakes, it may have had its moments of escalation and venting of tension in political life, but this is the only party in the history of pluralism that has more than once attempted dialogue and cooperation for the state and long before we were given the opportunity to come to life for justice reform, before we entered the 2009 elections, we offered the government of the day, a national pact for justice to do what we did it ourselves afterwards. We were rudely rejected, but we didn't give up on the idea" , said Rama.
