Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has reacted again from prison, but this time about the affairs of the institution he leads.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Veliaj emphasizes that he is being held without charges and was sentenced without trial. He has called on young couples who have won in the first phase for soft loans to hurry up and submit documents for the second phase.
"The soft loan program for young couples and homeless families is one of the projects that I hold dearest, and over the years, since we reopened it, we have helped many citizens of Tirana to buy their own home with the help of the government and the Municipality of Tirana.
Even though I am locked up in a cell without charges, convicted without trial, I want to invite every citizen who applied during the first phase of the program (where 2,237 applicants were declared winners), to bring the necessary documentation to the second phase.
So far, in the second phase, many applicants have submitted their documentation for soft loans, while there is time until March 4. Anyone who has been declared the winner of the First Phase must submit the complete documentation by March 4 (near the counters of the One-Stop Service Office on Kavajës Street), as there are a full 1200 quotas available.
