The Democratic Party will hold a referendum on its chairman on Saturday, but the exact number of members who will have the right to vote in this process has not yet been determined.
The Secretary for Legal Affairs at the DP, Ivi Kaso, said that in some branches of the party the election process has not yet been completed, which has also led to delays in the finalization of voter lists.
"In some branches, the election process has not yet been completed," said Kaso, explaining that for this reason the final number of members with voting rights has not yet been determined.
Kaso announced that the ballot for the May 23 referendum has already been approved and that the Democrats will be asked whether or not Sali Berisha should continue as head of the Democratic Party.
The Secretary for Legal Affairs also rejected claims that Berisha's candidacy conflicts with the party's statute.
"Mr. Berisha's candidacy has passed all the filters of the party bodies," he declared to "A2 CNN".
Regarding the statutory changes expected to be approved in the National Assembly on May 30, Kaso confirmed that the working group has received many proposals, but it has not yet been decided which of them will be included in the final draft.
