Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the chairman of the Socialist Party, has reacted through a post on "X" to the recent EPP meeting in Spain, where a resolution was also adopted, emphasizing that the May 11 elections and democracy in Albania are at risk.
"The alibi of defeat began within the EPP, where the empty hall of sister parties unanimously voted for the Great Swamp's thunderbolt for the loss of electoral freedom.
"A quack-quack-quash text that shows that the sweet illusion of Latif the magician is giving way to the bitter feeling of the magnificent defeat of May 11," Rama writes on social networks.
The EPP resolution highlights as main concerns: vote buying through cash and cannabis income; misuse of public resources and tenders during the pre-election period; electoral hiring and favoritism of SP supporters; illegal appointment of the interim mayor of Tirana after the arrest of Erion Veliaj; repression of the opposition and restriction of the media; criminal prosecution and pressure on opposition leaders and candidates; inequality in media access and concentration of media ownership in favor of the government.
