DP MP, Ina Zhupa, in the requested interpellation with the Minister of Education Ogerta Manastirliu, focused on the PISA results, where Albania ranks lower, compared to previous years.
From the floor of the Assembly, Zhupa said that the data of this report were encouraging for Albania, which is ranked below Palestine and Uzbekistan. Among other things, the democrat said that illiteracy is deepening in the country.
"After the Pisa results came out, which were embarrassing data. This is a report that strips away the propaganda and proves the collapse of the pre-university system in Albania. Albania had the biggest decline of any country in the region, compared to itself since 2009. It has fallen by 47-68-50 points. We rank lower than Palestine, than Uzbekistan. We had a bigger decline than all the other countries. The skills of our students have gone back to the year 2000. Illiteracy has deepened. We are focused on three main areas", she said.
