Sali Berisha should have been in prison for many economic, financial, and anti-state crimes since 1997, when, in order not to relinquish his personal power as ruler, he led the state and country into total destruction and the people into civil war with nearly 3,000 killed.
But he continues to rule at the top of politics as the leader of the Democratic Party, even de facto, as the tutor of all Albanian politics, with the aim of returning to power for a third time.
Because during the 28 years of unpunished crimes after 1997, the free field was created by the SP leadership, in collaboration with the justice leadership, and unfortunately, for the past 5 years, the new justice system.
In every parliamentary session, SP meeting and meeting with militants, Edi Rama called Sali Berisha "an excrement of the dictatorship, a remnant of the revolution, a murderer of Albanians, a non grata leader of the Sudan, with whom he would never cooperate."
But in February 2024, Edi Rama, on behalf of the Socialist Party, changed his language, no longer calling Sali Berisha such, and began his recycling with concrete acts; one of them, the order to the Court of Appeals, connected to the government dome, to give him the seal of the DP and recognition as chairman.
While then, open party and parliamentary cooperation began and they are continuing with the creation and voting of clientelistic laws for towers, property theft, online betting, cannabis concessions, the release of prisoners from SPAK and GJKKO, the electoral code for the political monopoly of the SP-PD, the crackdown on the media and the merger of SPAK, and finally the release of criminals before the elections.
But, since being removed from the game, Sali Berisha is now Edi Rama's partner, because he was rehabilitated by him himself, as a facade to have him as an opposition leader and illegal co-owner of power.
Edi Rama, using the Assembly in open violation of the Constitution, did not remove Sali Berisha's mandate as an MP in June 2024, even though he was under house arrest for corruption.
Edi Rama ordered Engjëll Agaçi and the ministers not to give SPAK the files of Sali Berisha's economic-financial crimes during his 2005-2013 term in power; he even provided him with sophisticated protection, not canceling concessions, kept the oligarchs active, and recycled the Minister of Finance, Ritvan Bode, by appointing him to the top of the State Bank.
For the January 21 file, Edi Rama sent the opinion of the government and parliament to the Strasbourg Court, that the Albanian state would not appear in the process opened by the families of the 4 victims; because according to Babloku, the case was considered closed with a fair investigation and trial, by all levels of justice in Albania, and since 2018, Babloku no longer even mentions the crime of Gërdec.
Edi Rama united the votes of the SP with the DP, to release the thieving officials convicted by SPAK and GJKKO, while with influence in the justice segments, he released Saliu from house arrest, with the justification that he is the leader of the opposition and must be physically present in the election campaign.
In bargaining with each other, Rama and Berisha created the Xhafaj-Braçe commissions to dissolve SPAK, take justice hostage, and crack down on media outlets that denounce the affairs of the SP-PD.
We recall that in 1990, the "monster" Sali Berisha was catapulted by the ALP's leadership to the head of the DP; as a guarantor of continuity for the former communist government; while in the years 1997-2005, the successor SP recycled him, through agreements of the successor SP's leadership, amnestied the crimes of the pyramids, the murders, the armed attack on September 14, 1998, etc.
